Thailand has some really great views. This beautiful girl was travelling from Brazil and posed for me as I let the scenery do the work.
We backpacked to 6 different islands in the Bay of Thailand. I enjoyed a little swinging as the sun set on the island of Kho Phi Phi.
Does this scene look familiar? “The Beach” with Leonardo DeCaprio was filmed here on the small island of Kho Phi Phi Ley. Also known as Maya Bay, we spent two nights camping on the beaches and playing in the turquoise waters.
Our guide, locally known as “Chocolate” provided us with great times and lots of laughs. He spoke great English and was popular with the ladies.
A few of the Thai guides join us for a picture just before heading out of Maya Bay. The waters here have bioluminescent plankton and at night when the water is splashed around you can see them glow.
The boat to and from Maya bay provided the perfect launching pad.
Phra Nang Beach, part of Railay, was my favorite beach on the trip. Here you could climb, relax in the soft sand, play on slacklines, and jump off cliffs.
The Island of Kho Phangan, famous for its full moon parties, also has plenty of places to hike and play. A series of waterfalls served as my shower that day.
For many people, riding an elephant is a must when you visit Thailand. However, make sure you research specific companies to make sure the elephants are treated humanely. There are many companies that abuse these beautiful creatures so if you are going to pay for this experience, make sure your money is going to the right place.
My three months in Thailand was the best time of my life. There were so many moments when you just had to stop and look around, and think, “I am so lucky.”
Another moment to just take in the beauty and magnificence of this beautiful country.
This is the scene at Haad Rin beach on Kho Phangan where the Full Moon Party takes place each month. Up to 30,000 people attend each event and party until the sun comes up.
My last night in Thailand, enjoying some shakes before we hit the beach for a night of arm wrestling, fire spinning, dance music, and lots of people having the time of their lives.
Back in Bangkok, a long exposure photo shows the busy streets of this dynamic and energetic city.
