The best breakfast you can make while on vacation or doing extended travel is a boring healthy breakfast of oatmeal combined with protein powder. Just make the oatmeal, add protein along with some additional water and you’re all set. Yes, it’s super boring and super basic, but it’s also great for three primary reasons.

1. It Has Good Macros
You’re essentially combining two great things and making them even better. It’s a quality carb and protein. You don’t want just protein or just carbs. It’s best to have both. Another option is to use Greek Yogurt spiked with the protein. Ideally you use old-fashioned oatmeal vs. the minute oatmeal because it’s processed a bit less.
2. It’s Cheap & Fast
Instead of going out for a restaurant breakfast every morning of an extended stay, this will save significant cash. And it’s probably better quality than what you’d eat anyway. It also takes like 3 minutes to make. If you look at the cost, it’s probably about a $3.00 meal, there’s no way you’re getting a $3.00 meal at a restaurant.
3. It’s Very Accessible
You can get oatmeal anywhere and you should never go anywhere without single serve protein packs. It’s a no brainer. We personally like Vega Sport protein powder in single serve packets so it’s easy to carry on planes, throw in backpacks, etc.
